June 19, 2009
The Colorado State University (CSU) Extension Beef Team is pleased to announce the 2009 beef producer field day taking place on Friday, June 19th. This year’s program will be held at the feedlot of Teague Diversified in Fort Morgan, CO and will showcase a variety of topics pertinent to today’s beef industry. Teague Diversified is recognized as a front runner in the beef industry in that they have a variety of unique practices they are implementing, trying, or found do not work in their operation. Registration will begin at 8:30 that morning with a full day of presentations running from 9:00 a.m. and ending at approximately 3:00 that afternoon. The day is divided into a cluster of five primary topics: 1) air quality, 2) composting manure and mortalities, 3) beta-agonists/by-product feeds, 4) animal handling, and 5) carcass quality. For each of the topics, you will rotate around the feedlot to stop at various places to not only hear from experts on the topic, but get a chance to see and touch what is really going on.
